This record contains data generated from samples collected in Moreton Bay between 28 and 31 Jan 2003. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments and retrieved chlorophyll a estimate, the absorption coefficient for dissolved (CDOM) particulate (a/p) and detrital or non-algal (a/d) components of the water column. 8 stations were sampled. The data was used primarily to validate ocean colour sensors MERIS, MODIS and SeaWIFs and the SST sensor AATSR. Samples were collected and analysed for pigments, total suspended solids (TSS) and absorption coefficient, dissolved and particulate. CLW deployed instruments RAMSES, AC-9, Hydroscat and Hydrorad.

This record describes HPLC pigment data measured from 21 sampling stations in the King George River region located in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The samples were collected on the Research Vessel Solander, Trip 5755 (SOL_5755) during June 6-11,2013. The voyage began on June 3, 2014 in Broome, Western Australia, and ended on June 14, 2013 in Darwin, Northern Territory. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments.

ESRI grids showing ocean chlorophyll from global observations of ocean colour data from the moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS). These grids have been produced by CSIRO for the National Oceans Office, as part of an ongoing commitment to natural resource planning and management through the 'National Marine Bioregionalisation' project. Chlorophyll accuracy is about ± 20%.

This record contains data collected from the near-water surface sampling site off the Lucinda Jetty, as part of the Lucinda Jetty Coastal Observatory. The samples were collected from April 8th to 9th, 2010. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured include the absorption coefficients of the particulate and dissolved components of the water column and the phytoplankton pigment concentration and composition.

This record contains data collected from a total of 29 stations on the MV Trinity Bay, from Cairns to Thursday Island. Samples were collected between November 30 and December 4, 2012. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured include Total Suspended Particulate Matter (TSM), including the organic and inorganic fractions; the absorption coefficients of the particulate and dissolved components of the water column and the phytoplankton pigment concentration and composition.

This record contains data collected on the RV Southern Surveyor, between July 21 and August 15 2005. The data were collected across two legs. Leg 1 samples were collected between Dampier and Freemantle, and Leg 2 samples were collected between two locations off Freemantle. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments and retrieved chlorophyll a estimate of the water column. 41 stations were sampled. Samples were collected and analysed for pigments.

This record describes HPLC pigment data collected from the Marine National Facility (MNF) RV Investigator voyage: IN2016_v03, titled "Monitoring Ocean Change and Variability along 170 W from the ice edge to the equator." The voyage consisted of two legs: Leg-1 from Hobart (TAS) to Wellington (NZ) between April 27 and May 26, and Leg-2 from Wellington (NZ) to Lautoka (Fiji) from May 27 to June 28, 2016. The data can be used for Ocean Colour sensor validation. Parameters measured are the concentration of chlorophyll and carotenoid pigments. Samples for phytoplankton pigment analysis were collected using 2 x filtration racks and vacuum pumps (dimensions filtration rack: H:60cm, W:20cm; L: 50cm + 2 pumps H:20cm, W:20cm; L: 20cm). Samples for chlorophyll a were collected using one filtration pump (dimensions: H:60cm, W:60cm; L: 60 cm).
